Cold weather changes runtime and setup planning. Pair this guide with the runtime guide and the MK-1 product details
Test in the conditions you expect
A warm indoor test is a useful starting point, but it does not establish runtime in cold weather. Check the operating instructions for the terminal, battery, charger and cables separately.
Record the temperature, workload, battery state and connected devices during a representative test. Allow a reserve for changing conditions instead of planning to use the entire battery.
Protect the complete connection
Inspect the enclosure, cable and connectors for damage, moisture and dirt. Keep the setup stable and away from standing water. Route the cable where it will not be caught by a door, wheel, sharp edge or moving equipment.
MK-1โs specification lists IP67. Use it according to the product instructions; do not immerse it or expose it to high-pressure water. The enclosure rating does not establish the protection of every connected accessory.
Separate operation from charging
Confirm the permitted charging conditions before connecting a cold battery to a charger. An operating-temperature specification should not be assumed to be a charging specification.
Keep the charger and USB-C connection protected and follow their own instructions. Stop using equipment that shows visible damage or abnormal behaviour.
Build a realistic runtime reserve
For MK-1, approximately 5โ8 hours of Mini runtime is supported by internal testing. It is not a cold-weather guarantee. The 189Wh battery also supplies any other connected devices.
Test the exact setup, reduce non-essential loads where practical, and arrange a compatible charging or backup option for time-sensitive work.
