Rain protection is about the complete setup. Review the documented IP67 boundary and the MK-1 field-use guide before deploying outdoors.
Identify what the rating covers
An IP rating belongs to a particular product and configuration. It does not automatically extend to an adapter, an open port or everything connected to it.
Use Starlink’s current instructions for the terminal and its cable configuration. MK-1’s specification lists IP67 for the power station; follow its instructions and avoid immersion or high-pressure water.
Check both ends of a cable
Protection can differ at each end. Starlink’s Mini USB-C cable guidance describes protection at the fitted barrel connection and warns against exposing the USB-C end outdoors. Read the official cable guidance for the exact accessory.
Inspect plugs, covers and seals for dirt, moisture, damage and secure seating before use. Do not connect wet or damaged charging equipment.
Choose a stable position
Keep the power source out of standing water and avoid cable routes that can be pinched or pulled. Position the setup where the connections remain accessible for inspection.
Moving the equipment or changing a cable can change the protection of the installation. Recheck the complete route after adjustment.
Recheck after exposure
Follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and drying instructions before charging or packing the equipment away. Avoid pressure washing and improvised drying methods.
If you find moisture inside a connection, damage or unusual behaviour, stop use and contact the relevant support team. A protection label does not replace that inspection.
