EQUIPMENT PLANNING

Compare the complete Starlink setup

Compare power, mounting and transport alongside the terminal you are considering.

Define the job first

List where the equipment will be used, how often it will move and which tasks depend on the connection. A fixed installation and a kit carried between locations can have different priorities.

Use current Starlink information for the exact Mini or Standard hardware, service and region. This guide does not rank their speed or claim one universal performance result.

Compare everything you need to carry

Include the terminal, power source, cables, networking equipment and mounting parts. Consider how you will position, inspect and repack the kit.

A product’s weight is not the same as the complete travel weight. MK-1 weighs approximately 1,025g; the terminal and other equipment add to that total.

Plan the complete power budget

Use a measured workload and the required session length, then allow for reserve and other connected devices. Confirm output compatibility for each terminal separately.

MK-1 is designed for Starlink Mini, with 189Wh of rated energy and a dedicated 30V / 2A max DC output. These specifications do not establish compatibility with Gen 3 Standard.

Test the setup you choose

Try the actual cable route, mounting arrangement and workload before depending on the kit away from charging access. Check how easily you can identify and recover from a power or connection problem.

For Mini with MK-1, approximately 5–8 hours of runtime is supported by internal testing. Actual results vary with usage, settings and conditions.
