Inspect the installation
Check the Starlink app for the actual warning and follow the terminal’s instructions. Look at direct sun, nearby hot surfaces, enclosed spaces and obstructions around the equipment.
A warning does not by itself identify the mount, battery or firmware as the cause. Note the conditions and check one part of the setup at a time.
Keep equipment accessible
Position the setup so you can inspect the power source and connections. Avoid enclosing the equipment in a way that conflicts with its operating instructions.
Protect the power source from unnecessary heat while preserving the terminal’s sky view. Use the Starlink app to check obstructions after repositioning.
Check power as well as temperature
A loose connection, unsuitable source or damaged cable can also interrupt operation. Look for abnormal heat at the connector and stop use if you find damage or a burning smell.
Test with compatible equipment and reduce other connected loads while diagnosing the issue. Do not keep reconnecting a setup that repeatedly enters a protection state.
Keep product ratings separate
MK-1’s specification lists IP67 and an operating range of −20°C to +45°C. These describe the MK-1 power station, not the Starlink Mini terminal or a guaranteed cooling result.
IP67 is an ingress-protection specification. It does not establish performance in an enclosed hot space. Follow each device’s instructions and contact support if the warning persists under permitted conditions.
