Prepare a Mini setup for hot, dusty conditions

Plan around heat exposure, connection cleanliness and limited charging access.

Treat this as a planning guide

This page describes preparation for hot, dry and remote conditions. It is not a published Mojave field-test result or a claim of performance at a particular desert temperature.

Check the terminal, power source and charging equipment instructions before choosing a site and workload.

Inspect heat and dust exposure

Keep the power source away from hot vehicle surfaces, exhausts and unnecessarily enclosed spaces. Preserve the terminal’s sky view while selecting a stable, inspectable position.

Check ports and connectors for dust, damage and secure seating before connecting them. Route cables away from wheels, sharp edges and walking paths.

Use the documented limits

MK-1’s specification lists an operating range of −20°C to +45°C and IP67. These are not a guarantee for every exposed installation, and the operating range should not be assumed to define charging conditions.

Do not immerse or pressure-wash the unit. Stop and reassess equipment that becomes damaged, unstable or repeatedly loses power.

Prepare before the last charging point

Charge the system and run a representative workload with the cable and accessories you will carry. Plan compatible charging access and a reserve for delays.

MK-1 stores 189Wh and has an approximately 5–8-hour internally tested Mini runtime reference. Actual runtime varies, so use your own complete-system test to plan remote work.
