Vehicle power is a voltage and wiring problem, not just a battery-size problem. Use the field-use guide to compare a dedicated DC setup.
Start with a parked test
Park before inspecting or adjusting the equipment. Compare the problem setup with a known-working power source and cable that meet the terminal’s requirements.
Record when the restart happens: at startup, when the engine starts or stops, after another accessory is connected, or after the system has been running for a while. These patterns help narrow the cause.
Check the vehicle supply
Consult the vehicle and adapter instructions for socket limits and shared loads. Some sockets switch off with the ignition; available power and protection behaviour depend on the vehicle.
Disconnect non-essential accessories during the test. Do not increase a fuse rating or bypass protection to keep a setup running.
Inspect the cable and adapter
Check the output voltage, current rating, connector and polarity against the equipment requirements. Look for loose plugs, bent contacts, worn cables and strain near connectors.
Use a suitable cable with as few extensions as practical. Stop the test if there is abnormal heat, a burning smell or visible damage. Change one component at a time so you can identify what changes the result.
Keep the power and mounting decisions separate
A compatible power source does not establish that a mount or service plan permits use while moving. Confirm those requirements separately with the relevant manufacturer and service provider.
For a parked field setup, MK-1 provides a dedicated 30V / 2A max DC output and a telescopic tripod. Follow the setup instructions and test the complete installation before your trip.
