SETUP GUIDE

Build a reliable Starlink Mini power setup

Match the battery, output, cable and deployment to the work you need to do.

Start with the whole session

List how long you need to stay connected and which devices will share the battery. Include calls, uploads, phones and laptops in the plan. Test your normal workload before relying on a best-case runtime figure.

MK-1 has 189Wh of rated energy. Internal testing supports approximately 5–8 hours of Starlink Mini runtime; actual runtime varies with use, settings and conditions. Extra devices draw from the same energy reserve.

Choose the correct power path

Use the dedicated MK-1 DC output, rated at 30V / 2A max, with the intended Starlink Mini cable. Check the connector seating and cable condition before switching on.

The USB-C port supports input and output up to 65W for compatible devices and charging. This is a different connection from the dedicated DC output for Mini.

Deploy and check

  1. Fit the Mini adapter and secure the mounting connection.
  2. Connect the dedicated DC cable without pulling or pinching it.
  3. Set the tripod on stable ground and check that the installation is secure.
  4. Switch on MK-1 and check the Mini’s connection in the Starlink app.
  5. Run the intended workload and note the battery change.

Follow the complete setup guide for the installation sequence.

Plan how you will continue

Bring a compatible charging source if the session may outlast your tested runtime. MK-1 supports USB-C charging while supplying Mini through DC, but the battery’s net charge depends on input power and the connected load.

Keep a practical reserve and decide what you will do if a cable, charging source or connection is unavailable.
